2032 Portfolio Update. Adding to three current positions & opening two new positions
Happy Thursday investors. Let’s get to it. Substack has warned me that this is too long for email so read the whole post on my site (link)
Current portfolio value for the 2032 portfolio is $17,430, currently up 11.4% since its February 15, 2022 inception. I wrote about this portfolio and overall strategy previously (link)
I’ve added a new Crypto “bucket” to the portfolio. On the ride of the image below you’ll see actual/target for each bucket. Those represent the current total % of the portfolio vs my target %. It’s important to note I intend to contribute at least $1500 every two weeks for the next 10 years. So that’s around $36,000 per year or $370,000 total because the portfolio started with $10,000.
After Friday I will have contributed $17,500 or 4.7% of my total contributions to the portfolio.
So I’m comfortable having 10% - 20% positions at this time. Once I get past 50% of total contributions in 2027ish I will likely limit positions to 10% max…but I have plenty of time to change my mind before then.
Right now the portfolio is 84% growth, 16% dividend, and 0% crypto. Over the next few months, I intend to get it closer to 70% growth, 20% dividend, and 10% crypto using new contributions.
I’m overweight growth right now because I believe the fears over rising rates combined with the quality of businesses, gross margin profile, and future growth potential have driven valuations down to a point where the risk/reward is very good over the next 5+ years.
I also believe growth will bounce back very fast when it does. Once that happens and valuations are less attractive, I’ll contribute very heavily towards the dividend bucket.
Here are the current positions, dollar value amounts, and returns.
Friday Morning, April 1st I’m making the following purchases with $3,000 in new contributions. $1,500 (50%) towards the crypto bucket, $1,000 (33%) towards the growth bucket, and $500 (16%) towards the dividend bucket
Let me know what you think about these new positions and ask any questions in the comments!
